GDO provides a global platform for dancers, choreographers, teachers, studios and countries to showcase their skills, potential and talent. It's a competition where excellence in dance is not just admired but celebrated, nurtured and catapulted to life-changing opportunties.
At GDO, we are looking to attarct the highest-calibre of dancers from across the globe. Our competition is open to all dancers from ages 5-29 years at the qualifiers, and only the invited dancers are in attendance at our Finals.
GDO has participation of dancers from 37 countries across the world.
Dance styles on offer at GDO includes: Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Neoclassical, Jazz, Lyrical, Showdance, Acro, HipHop/Street/Commercial, Tap & Musical Theatre
GDO is commited to a future of connecting the most-promising dancers with the globe’s leading dance institutions, education centres and companies.
QUALIFIERS
GDO hosts a season of qualifiers from November-May annually across the globe. With 20 live qualifiers and multiple virtual qualifiers, GDO annually connects with over 6635 during these qualification rounds. Through these qualifiers, 1500 dancers are invited to join our Finals.
Of the 1500 dancers that qualify for the finals, the soloists of selected style are then levelled into:
‘Upper Division:’ dancers that have fantastic technical and artistic level with a potential future in dance and score over 90 points
‘Main Division:’ Dancers that have good potential and would benefit from exposure in participating in a global event.
FINALS
An annual final is held in July, hosted in a new city each time. The finals are 5 days of high-level competition, progressive learning opportunites and formation of deep connections and friendships. We are very lucky, that since our creation in 2021 we have awarded over 1.2£ million worth of scholarships.
For the first time, GDO will be hosting the 2025 finals in the UK. From the 16-20 July 2025, Birmingham will welcome our finalists for the 4th GDO Finals. Hosted at the ICC Convention Centre, the GDO finals will have access to two large stages which will host the competition daily from 9:00am-9:00pm simultaneously
