Courtney Ortiz

Courtney Ortiz is a professional dancer, educator, choreographer, adjudicator and proud YoungARTS award winner based in New York City. Her professional dance and teaching career has allowed her to travel the world performing in places such as: Dubai, Brazil, England, Poland, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Germany, Australia, and France. Her career spans from stage to screen with credits including: the Broadway National Tour of Finding Neverland, Lin Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring The Rockettes, and the first ever revival in 30 years of Jerome Robbins’ Broadway performed at The Muny and Theater Under the Stars! You can also catch Courtney’s feet tap dancing in the hit FX series, Fosse/Verdon, where she was the dance double for Young Bob Fosse! One of her favorite and most memorable credits was performing original Jerome Robbins’ choreography throughout Europe on the International Tour of the classic musical West Side Story. Throughout her time in the professional dance industry she has worked with and learned from legendary choreographers like Cynthia Onrubia, Chase Brock, Christopher Gattelli, Michael Balderrama, Joey McKneely, Lorin Latarro, Jon Rua, Susan Misner, Parker Esse, Chris Bailey, Luis Salgado, Josh Bergasse and many more.

Outside of performing, Courtney is an international dance educator and in-demand dance adjudicator. She has been teaching on numerous dance conventions for the last decade and is the current Jazz Faculty with Streetz Dance Convention. Recently, Courtney was invited to teach at the 16th Annual Congresso de Jazz Dance held in São Paulo, Brazil. She also serves as the Audition Choreographer with RWS Global where she travels the world auditioning dancers for future opportunities on cruise ships and is the proud owner of Impact Dance Adjudicators and the host of their popular dance podcast Making The Impact - A Dance Competition Podcast.

Yolandi Moreira

South African born Yolandi started her ballet training at age four and was taught by Martin Schonberg’s Ballet Theatre Afrikan Academy. She attended the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg from 1996-1998. She completed her schooling at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto. In 1998 Yolandi won the Prix de l’association pour de l’Opera National de Paris at the 8th concours international De Danse de Paris. In 1999, she was a semi-finalist the the Prix de Lausanne winning her scholarship to train in Canada. In 2001, she participated in the Helsinki International Ballet Competition and won the South African leg of the International Cecchetti competition. Later that year she won second prize in the international leg of the same competition in Melbourne, Australia. She returned to Helsinki in 2005 where she was a semi-finalist at the Helsinki International Ballet Competition.

In 2000, upon her return to South Africa, she joined the Ballet Theatre Afrikan Company (BTA) as a principal dancer. Whilst with BTA she toured South Africa performing a number of principal roles including Paquita, Aurora in the Sleeping Beauty, Grand Pas Classique as well as Odette/Odile from in Swan Lake.

In 2001 Yolandi became the youngest Giselle ever in South Africa when she appeared as a guest artist with the South African Ballet Theatre (SABT). She joined SABT in April 2008 as a soloist and made her debut with the company as Queen of the Dryads. She performed in various other soloist and principal roles during her time in the company.

In 2011 Yolandi started her new venture as a freelance dancer and choreographer in various festivals and corporate functions. She runs the Danceworks Associates program and teaches group glasses in both classical ballet and Progressing Ballet Technique. Yolandi is a Year 1 tutor, and also teaches coaching and pas de deux.

Sonia Farjado 

Sonia is a graduate of Cubans National Ballet School, under the direction of Ramona de Saa Bello and pupil of Josefina Mendez, one of the Four Jewels of the Cuban Ballet Sonia has 16 years of experience as a Soloist Dancer and over 30 years as Choreographer, Director and Ballet Teacher. She also has completed a Master of Education (Advanced Management Education), a Degree in Dance majoring in Teaching Classical Dance, a Masters in Classical Dance, and holds a Dance Professor Title at the University of Carabobo.

She has been the Owner and Director of the Ballet Company Nueva Era del Ballet for 21 years and has directed International Performances, Festivals and Competitions in Scotland, South Africa, Malaysia, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Cuba, United States, Portugal, Israel, Germany, Panam, Russia and Venezuela. Ms Fajardo has won several international medals and recognitions as Solo Contestant. As a Ballet Teacher, her students have won more than 20 international medals around the world and many national prizes. Sonia has also received special recognition from Cuba's National Ballet School for her constant participation during her 20 years at the International Ballet School Meetings and International Ballet Competitions organized by Cuba's National Ballet School.

Jenna Carey Miles

Jenna trained at Bird College, graduating with a First Class Degree before working for Celebrity Cruise Lines as Dance Captain, Dancer and Aerialist, for a number of years. During this time she worked with international choreographers, helping to create and take out some of their newest shows. Since deciding to pursue her first love, of teaching, she has enjoyed developing her experience in higher education whilst also holding her L.I.S.T.D in Modern and Tap. Jenna has been a part of Performers College Birmingham since its inaugural year working as part of the Jazz and Tap faculty and is also part of the faculty at Arts1 on the degree course. She specialises in Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre and alongside other choreographic work, teaches at other Vocational schools across the UK.

Adam Braham

Adam trained at Laine Theatre Arts. 

Whilst performing, credits included: Oliver!; Hey, Mr Producer; The Pirates of 

Penzance; Iolanthe; The Mikado; Hooray for Hollywood; Aladdin; Beauty and the 

Beast; Thief Takers (ITV); Sherlock Holmes.

Adam started his work in the creative side of the industry by working with MadDog 

Casting, working alongside the Casting Director Ilenka Jelowicki. He assisted with 

projects such as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides; W.E. directed by 

Madonna and Tim Burton’s ‘Dark Shadows’.

As a Casting Director, Adam has worked on over 100 projects including: Frank’s 

Closet; Shout!; I Love You Because; The Tailor-Made Man; West Side Story; Twelfth 

Night; Salomé, Betty Blue Eyes, over 50 productions for The Union Theatre in 

Southwark over the last 10 years, as well as numerous corporate campaigns and 

events both in the UK and internationally. 

As Resident Casting Director for Regan De Wynter Williams Productions, Adam has 

worked on multiple award winning productions of Sasha Regan’s The Pirates of

Penzance; HMS Pinafore; Iolanthe; The Mikado; Salad Days.

Adam has also worked in actor & creative management as an Agent for companies 

such as Regan Rimmer Management, Debbie Rimmer Management, LHA, McleanWilliams Ltd, and was the in-house Agent, Head of 3rd Year and Creative Coordinator for PPA for 3 years. He joined Laine Theatre Arts to work as the Agent and 

Agency Manager for Betty Laine Management in 2021, before leading the company 

through a rebrand in 2025, and now heads up the newly named The Laine Artist 

Group

Devon Young

London based professional artist, performer & creative. Trained at The Urdang Academy, London successfully completing the Diploma in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre. Eva Blanco

Eva is a graduate of The Arts Educational School and a Licentiate member of the

ISTD. She started her training at The Dupont’s Stage School in Leicester and

graduated from AES, Tring in 1993. Eva worked as a professional dancer,

specialising in musical theatre and commercial dance in the UK and internationally.

Throughout her career, Eva has performed in Tommy Steele’s ‘What a Show!’ Prince

of Wales theatre, London 1996. Gaudi das Musical, Köln, Germany 1998. Boogie

Nights the musical, UK tour as Tracey, 1 st cover and dance captain 2001-2003. The

Millennium Dome ‘OVO’ Greenwich, London 2000. Spirit of the dance, USA, UK and

Asia 1998-2000. The closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics are a few of

her career highlights. Not forgetting the birth of her daughter in 2004!

Eva has been teaching dance for nearly 20 years, joining Tring Park School for the

Performing Arts in September 2013 as a Modern, Jazz and Tap teacher,

Choreographer, Dance GCSE & Trinity diploma (L5) and Mentor.

Fletcher Dobinson

Fletcher is a UK based choreographer and creative whose own style touches on various disciplines of dance, all based on a jazz foundation.

Fletcher is currently the UK Resident Choreographer of ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ in London’s West End.

Other creative credits include: Associate choreographer ‘42 Balloons’, Associate choreographer ‘Bronco Billy’, Assistant Director/Choreographer ‘Death Note’, Resident Director/Choreographer ‘CATS’, Associate Choreographer ‘To Gillie; With Love’.

Chisato Ohno 

After graduating from Central School of Ballet, Chisato joined Netherlands Dans Theater 2 from 1994-1998 where she performed works by Jiri Kylian, Hans van Manen, Johan Inger, Paul Lightfoot, Gideon Obarzanek and many others. She continued to become a member of Batsheva Dance Company from 1998- 2004 where she was involved in many works of Ohad Naharin and other choreographers including John Jasperse, William Forsythe, Mats Ek and Sharon Eyal. She then joined Karas Company of Saburo Teshigawara for two creations and tours of other repertory. 

Chisato returned to London and has been teaching Gaga since 2005. She teaches regular Professional Classes at The Place and Greenwich Dance Agency and has taught company class for Akram Khan Company, Hofesh Shechter Company, Protein Dance, Punch Drunk, Stopgap, Clod Ensemble, New Adventures, Lost Dog and others. She joined our faculty in 2012

Jo Black

Jo trained at Laine Theatre Arts, Rambert, Brit School and TrinityLaban where she gained 1st Class Hons in Dance Theatre. Jo has had the pleasure of performing for Dance 2XS UK under the direction of Sisco Gomez and Kimberley Taylor, Avant Garde, Theo Lowe, Kerry Nicholls, Tom Dale, Susan Sentler, Carrie Anne Ingrouille, Charlene Willets, Ella Mesma, Alesandra Seutin Vocab Dance, Keneish Dance and Redtape Dance Malta. Jo’s professional work spans performance, choreography, teaching, curriculum development, dramaturgy and mentoring for companies, artists, festivals, theatres and educational establishments both in the UK and Europe. Jo Rehearsal Directs for Ella Mesma Dance Company , MayayToussaint and continues as Assistant Choreographer and Rehearsal Director for award winning, international choreographer and Sadlers Wells Associate Artist, Alesandra Seutin- most recently collaborating on The Herds ( London Final) with Artistic Director Amir Nizar Zuabi. Jo's choreographic work has spanned numerous theatres and festivals Nationally and Internationally such as Royal Festival Hall, London, Sadlers Wells, Queens Theatre Hornchurch, Stratford Circus, Bernie Grants Arts Centre, London Bridge Live Festival, Electric Theatre Guildford, London City Hall, Texas Tech University USA and Manoel Teatre, Malta. Jo was Producer & Artistic Director of Havering Dance Festival, Essex, overseeing programming, artist development, and delivery. Jo's teaching practice and programme management has been delivered in professional training programmes, undergraduate courses, outreach programmes and further education establishments, some of which include, Royal Academy of Dance, Runway House-London, Laine Theatre Arts, LIPA, Kingston University, Northern Contemporary Dance School, Trinity Laban, National Youth Dance Company England, Brit School and for Simon How Agency. Alongside her artistic practice, Jo is Access and Participation Outreach Lead at Laine Theatre Arts, where she leads strategic initiatives to widen access, develop talent, and extend high-quality training opportunities to young performers from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.

Jodie Clark

Jodie is a prominent performing arts educator, choreographer, and adjudicator with a passion for unlocking potential through creativity and motivation. A graduate of Doreen Bird College with Distinction, Jodie was awarded the prestigious Dancing Times Choreography Award. Her dynamic performing career spans appearances in commissioned works for Dance Umbrella at the British Library, international performances on luxury cruise liners, and roles in commercials, pantomimes, and summer seasons across the UK and Europe. Jodie works at The BRIT School, where she has been instrumental in producing innovative multi-arts projects. Her expertise in technical advancement and artistic development has led her to choreograph for numerous performance platforms, crafting original works that resonate within the performing arts community. Jodie collaborates closely with renowned industry partners, including Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Dollie Henry MBE, The BRIT Awards, and several elite sporting organisations. In her freelance work, Jodie is a sought-after examiner, teacher, and mentor, frequently delivering workshops and choreographing for corporate events, flash mobs, and pantomimes. Her educational credentials include an MA in Creative Practice in Education from the University of Chester, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and Fellowship status with the ISTD. Jodie holds prominent adjudicating roles, serving as an Adjudicator member of The British and International Federation of Festivals, where she led the development of the new marking scheme. She is also an Adjudicator and Trustee for All England Dance and a Certified Adjudicator for Acrobatic Arts. Her adjudication extends to prestigious events such as the BTDA Championships, AED Finals, and Global Dance Open. She has been a guest speaker at notable forums including the FA Talent ID Conference and Loughborough University's young leaders programme. Jodie’s commitment to nurturing future talent is evident through her impact at The BRIT School, with past students flourishing in various sectors of the industry, including performing for Dua Lipa, Lana Del Ray, Eve, Rambert and Hofesh companies, as well as West End productions such as Aladdin, Hamilton & Wicked on stage and film.

Jose Alves

Born in Brazil, José started ballet at the age of 13 at the Adalgisa Rolim Ballet School. He joined the Ballet Company of the Young (Palace of Arts) in Belo, Brazil where he remained until 2011. During this time, he was also the featured dancer in Ricky Martin’s music video, Samba.  José joined Ballet Black for the 2012/13 season and was promoted to Senior Artist in 2014. He was also one of the lead dancers in the Company’s first live stream on World Ballet Day 2017, broadcast by the BBC. He led live streamed classes for the public throughout the pandemic and is the subject of a biography, A História De Um Bailarino Incomum written by Taís Fernanda Reis published in 2021.
