Dancer of the Globe can only be entered if competing LIVE in Spain
Dancers are nominated for this special prize through showing exceptional potential in a particular or multiple genres of dance.
There will be 2 Dancer of. the Globes awarded at our 2023 finals:
The Dancer of the Globe Classical Award & The Dancer of the Globe Performer Award
CLASSICAL AWARD
PERFORMER AWARD
Days needed to be available- July 19-21st

Dancers who were nominated by in either a Ballet (Free/ Rep)/ Contemporary will compete for this award.

Candidates must prepare a solo- either Contemporary, Ballet Repertoire,or Neoclassical to present in the DOTG Category.

This solo can be different to solos you are already competing in or can be a solo you are competing with at GDO
-
Solos should be chosen/ choreographed with the intention to showcase the dancers talent , we suggest you keep in mind the genre of dance which you were originally nominated by

No dancers under 12 years old (Age on January 31st 2023) can dance on pointe shoes

Dancers will also participate in a Workshop class. The classwork will be judged by a panel and will count towards the dancer’s overall mark. Timings of the Workshop will be sent out closer to the finals date.

Dancers who were nominated by in either a Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Musical Theatre, Hip Hip/ Commercial or Showdance

Candidates must prepare a solo- either Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Acrodance, Musical Theatre, Hip Hip/ Commercial or Showdance. This solo can be different to solos you are already competing in or you perform again a solo you are competing with at GDO

Solos should be chosen/ choreographed with the intention to showcase the dancers talent- we suggest you keep in mind the genre of dance which you were originally nominated for

Solo Performance Score- 60% Class score- 40%

All dancers nominated will also be invited to take part in an exciting choreography project! We will be bringing in an emerging choreographer to work with the dancers to create a piece featuring all of the Dancer of the Globe Nominees. This piece featuring dancers from all over the globe will be filmed professionally and created into a concept video. Dancers will have the opportunity to work with a professional Choreographer & Videographer dancing to original music created by an orchestrator.

Dancers Nominated for the Performer Award will need to be available on July 23rd
